Engineer's
Notes:
mk I:
This vessel was the first of the modern era
Rihannsu vessels off of the assembly lines. The vessels were slower than
their Federation and Klingon counterparts, though more manuverable. There
are no known confrontations between Rihannsu and Federation vessels
but combat records from Klingon-Romulan skirmishes indicate that the vessel
would have been far outgunned and outfought by Starfleet Vessels. The
lack of targeting torpedos was a serious liablity, and the Rihannsu Rail
Guns didn't have the firepower of Federation Accelerator cannons.
mk II:
This second attempt at a war vessel was far
more successful than its predacessor. The added warp factors allowed
it to be deployed far more quickly to trouble spots. Its massive forward
firepower, coupled with the new cloaking device and high degree of manuverablity
allowed the ship to deliver a massive first strike to an enemy vessel's
weak spots. The plasma implosion field weapon could disable or destroy
a vessel even with its shields up. The vessels are no longer in service,
all having been converted to the mk III model. It
was this class of vessels that first engaged the USS Enterprise and several
bases along the Federation Neutral Zone.
mk IIa:
This vessel marked the first big change in
the vessel's superstructure. The nacelle pylons were angled in a far shallower
angle, in hopes of improving manuverablity and warp field geometries.
The trial, while succesful, increassed strains when the vessel attempted
to yaw, thus the design was dropped.
mk III:
The modern Rihannsu warship, it is similar
in firepower to the Ihlarei-class vessels. The vessel is slightly smaller
though, and has a reduced crew and cargo compliment. While this increases
its cost-effectiness, it reduces the vessels capacity to operate solo
for extended periods of time.
mk IIIx:
While not truely a make un to itself, it
is worthy of making note of this vessel. Ael t'Riellhillu's crew made
very serious modifications to their warbird, and thus changed its design
specs radically. The vessel mounts Klingon phaser gunnery conduits, a
resturctured warp core, ablative armor plating, supercharged manuvering
thrusters, enhanced shielding, and peaked out warp coils. The result is
a vessel that, in combat, is possibly superior to cruisers.
