Warbird-Class Scout

Engineer's Notes:  

This vessel is the newest class to be added to the Romulan armada. Specifically designed to assist the Blacklight Battleship, the Warbird is perhaps the most manueverable vessel ever designed by Romulan engineers.  

Warbird's sensory systems were specifically designed to interface with Blacklight's computer, allowing the battleship to use the scouts as highly mobile probes. Blacklight can control up to three of these ships simultaneously. 

 In addition to providing support to the battleship, the Warbird is equipped with very heavy shielding and a moderate weapons system. The Warbird class is expected to become the new ship of choice for the defense of spacedocks and other orbital defense platforms.  

Although this vessel has proved highly sucessful in many tests, there are still some major design flaws to work out. The ship's life support system is veunerable to overload, and during drydock tests has caused a power backflush into the impulse core. Additionally, at speeds higher than warp 7, the ship suffers a nutrino bleed off that degrades the hull integrity.
